The UK Hydrographic Office has announced plans to stop paper chart production by late 2026 to focus on digital navigation products and services. They noted that marine, naval and leisure users are primarily using digital products and the phasing out process will be managed in close liaison with the Coast Guard Agency, hydrographic offices and others.
This follows NOAA which announced a five-year transition to all digital which started in 2019. Read More
