(wessexarch.co.uk) – Lat year workers for a concrete company discovered the remains of an Elizabethan-era ship about 300 meters from the coast, in a quarry in Kent, England. Very few English-built 16th century ships survive making this a rare discovery from a period in the history of seafaring. Nearly 100 timbers have been recovered and will help scientists not only understand the vessel but also trade during that era. Read more.
