Why Do It?

This is the 52nd year of the Transpac, a 2,225 mile journey from Los Angeles, CA to Honolulu, HI. The host of the race, Transpacific Yacht Club wondered what motivates someone to take on the challenge of the race and spoke with Jamie Isbester who is sailing the race for the first time, in his J 105, Energy, the smallest boat in the fleet at 34.5 feet.
