Every year close to 200 boats and 1,200 people sail from Gran Canaria, Spain to Saint Lucia in the ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers) rally.
To emphasize the growing popularity of multihulls amongst cruisers, Yachting World has pointed out that of the 16 new boats taking place in this year’s ARC, 15 were multihulls. They interviewed a number of the new owners to see how the process went from deciding on the boat to making sure the boat was prepared for a transatlantic journey.
