Heavy Weather Sailing Skills and Tactics

Most cruising sailors avoid sailing in strong winds and high seas but on passage, even in the tropics, strong winds and squalls are a reality that can’t always be avoided. Preparing your boat and your crew for winds over 30 knots and the waves that come with them requires planning, preparation and practice.
