About 40 million metric tons of plastic waste are produced annually, with a forecasted increase to 1,100 million metric tons by 2050. A significant portion of this plastic finds its way into our oceans, rivers, and coastlines, wreaking havoc on marine life and ecosystems. As sailors who call the ocean our playground and home, we simply have to do something.
The American Sailing Association along with 4Ocean, an ocean cleanup company, are making a commitment to safeguard the oceans with their program “Buy One, Pull One”. For each apparel item purchased from the ASA, one pound of plastic will be removed from the ocean by 4Ocean. Read more.
