The 49-foot X-49 slot in the builder’s line of performance cruising boats has long defined the X-Pure concept that has made X-Yachts one of the leading builders in Europe. The Danish builder also has a XP line of racing-style sloops and the XC line of cruisers.
This year, X has reimagined just what the 49 should be all about and created a whole new model with a new hull, new deck and refined interior, yet they have kept the model name the same. This they did this two years ago with their ever-popular X-43 and the reimagining was very popular with new buyers.
The new X-49 borrows a lot of design elements from the X-56 and the new X-43 and actually joins the fleet as the third boat in their new definition of X Pure-Yachts’ style and build. The new 49 was introduced last January at the Dusseldorf show. See a comprehensive review by Sail Universe here.
