In weather forecastiing, what is the GFS and what do the letters stand for?

Send your answers to george@bwsailing.com. A winner will be selected randomly from the correct answers.

Many thanks to all of you who sent in answers to last week’s question on broad seams. Jenny Clarke, Westport, Massachusetts is this week’s winner. She emailed: “Broad seams are the curved edges of sail cloth panels  that make the sail three dimensional when the panels are sewn together. If the edges were straight, the sail would end up just a flat triangle.”
