During the great multihull surge in popularity over the last 20 years, the French Builder Fountaine Pajot has grown by leaps and bounds and has continued to innovate new ways to provide family cruising cats that combine a huge amount of space with a fine sailing hull and rig.
The new 41, introduced this spring, is the next generation and looks like a true winner with obvious Fountaine Pajot DNA and plenty of innovations. The design emphasizes indoor-outdoor living so there are large sunning areas on the cockpit hard top and the foredeck.
The spacious cockpit with a dinette and settees flows as one space into the saloon where there is the galley and ample seating. Surrounded by large saloon windows, the whole area is full of natural light and fresh air.

Aft, an innovative lifting platform is mounted between the hulls that doubles as afterdeck beach front and a dinghy davit. The platform can be lowered into the water so the dinghy can get into position before being mechanically elevated. This is a feature normally seen on much larger boats.
The 41 has a number of cabin arrangements depending on the needs of a family or for use in charter fleets. The owner’s version has a large suite in one hull and two comfortable guest cabins and a head in the other.
One of the things you’ll notice when stepping aboard the latest generation of FPs is the quality of the build and the intelligence of the system. In the 41, as in the new 44 and the 45, the boat can be powered by a modern hybrid diesel-electric propulsion unit.
And, for electric running mode, the battery bank can be supplemented by a full solar array on the hard top and a lithium battery charging system.
The new 41 is the smallest cat in the FP fleet yet it will be just perfect for a family that wants the living space of a cat in a manageable and economical package.
