Many thanks to everyone who sent in answers to last week’s question. The winner this week is Gordon Couture, Lake St. Clair, Michigan,. who emailed: “The prime meridian is an imaginary line that runs north-south between earth’s geographic poles. It is the location of 0° longitude that separates the eastern and western hemispheres (and E-W longitude coordinates). The line passes through Greenwich, England as well as several other countries and a lot of ocean. It is geographically opposite the international date line, which is 180° longitude, the maximum E-W coordinate.”
