Many thanks to everyone who took the time to fill out last week’s survey on marine alternators. Pf those who replied, 53% have a high-output alterenator on their engines and of those 73% instaled it themselves. Asked to comment on the output in amps that is about right for a mid-side cruisoing boat, most sail etween 120 and 200 amps, depending on the sice of the battery bank. Of all resppondents, 78% also have a smart regulator in their charging system.
