The Ghost Fleet of 200 Plus Shipwrecks in the Potomac River Soon to be Federally Protected

Shipwrecks, some dating back three centuries and some built during WWI will soon be federally protected. In Mallows Bay on the Potomoc River the ghost fleet of more than 200 shipwrecks will be protected under a sanctuary designation governed by NOAA, the state of Maryland and Charles County. This will be first ever national marine sanctuary in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Read More
