(The Guardian) – The 250 foot MV Alta has been drifting for over a year past the Americas, Europe and Africa. September 2018 found the ship approximately 1,300 miles southeast of Bermuda when she was disabled. Rescued by the Coast Guard, the crew abandoned her and she was eventually towed to Guyana where the ship was then hijacked.
