Congratulations to Dee Falcone of Bayonne, NJ, who correctly identified “leeway”. She emailed: “When you are sailing upwind, most sailboats will slide slightly sideways to the course they are steering as the lift of the keel can’t completely compensate for the sideways pressure of the wind. I’m told some modern race boats don’t make any leeway.”
