Congratulations to Dennis Del Nero of Metairie, LA who correctly identified a counterpoise on a sailboat. “You’ll find a counterpoise as the ground or bonding of an HF radio’s antenna. It’ll usually be a length of copper strapping attached to the seacocks and maybe to a grounding plate under the boat’s hull. The better the counterpoise, the better the transmission from the antenna.”
