Creating Islands a Dredge at a Time

(Pocket) – Large hopper dredger ships are used to rebuild or create islands by pumping large amounts of sand from the ocean floor. In the U.S. a ship is helping to rebuild Ship Island in the Gulf of Mexico which was split by hurricanes.
