Congratulations to Rodger Strickland, Mobile, AL who correctly identified a skywave in HF radio operations. “The skywave effect is when a radio signal that usually is of quite high frequency in the SSB range skips off the ionisphere back towards earth to double the broadcast range. In perfect atmospheric conditions, you can get two or three skips to extend the transmission half way around the world.”
