(Yachting Monthly) – A sailor taking part in this year’s Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (the ARC) was fatally injured, and his two crew mates were rescued 500 miles west of the Canaries. The sailor, Max Delannoy, 73 was taking the helm for his shift when he was struck by the boom. One of the other crew was able to save him from going overboard but Delannoy was killed instantly.
