Danny Reevie, Metairie, LA who correctly answered last week’s question on channel markers. “Most of the world uses the IALA-A buoy system where in-bound vessels will have red buoys and lights on the port side and green buoys and lights on the starboard side. In the IALA-B system used in the North and South America, Japan and the Philippines, in-bound vessels will have green buoys and lights on the port side and red on the starboard side; that’s why in these countries we say “red right returning.”
