How do you keep the fresh water in your boat’s water tanks sweet, potable and algae free?
Thanks to all who answered last week’s survey on sail repair. 77% of those who answered have had to make repairs themselves to essential sails. The preferred tools for making repairs are: 1. sailmaker’s palm, needles and thread; 2. sticky-back sail tape or sail cloth; 3. electric sewing machine; 4. contact cement and sail cloth; and, 5. a hand-cranked sewing machine.
Readers offered several suggestions for useful tools, including: Speedy Stitcher, Gorilla tape, and a Sail Rite sewing machine.
