What is trhe visual signal you hoist to the spreaders to indicate that the boat is anchored?

Send your answers to george@bwsailing.com. A winner will be drawn from the correct answers and will win a subscription to the digital version of Blue Water Sailing.

Thanks to all readers who sent in answers to last week’s question. The winner this week is Betsy Collier, Marblehead, MA who emailed:  “You use an anchor snubber on anchor chain to absorb shock loads and protect the windlass from damage. It’s often a length of stretchy nylon line with either a chain hook to hook the chain or you can just use a rolling hitch on the chain.  Or you can use a store bought snubber with a length of rubber to make it extra springy.”
