Cruising Compass
Question of the Week 0

Survey of the Week

By George Day · On August 22, 2023

Before reading on, please take a moment to fill out our weekly survey so we can share your thoughts and experiences with the Cruising Compass family. Thanks.

Have you had to replace any seacocks on your boat?

Many thanks to all readers who took the time to fill out last week’s survey on self-tacking jibs. Of those who answered, 32% have a self-tacking jib. Asked to rate the jib’s upwind performance, readers gave it 4.3 stars out of five. Asked to rate downwind performance, readers gave a lower rating of 3.2. 55% of those with self-taking jibs carry a reachers of asymmetrical spinnaker for downwind sailing.
