Cruising Compass
Question of the Week 0

Survey of the Week

By George Day · On October 3, 2023

Before reading on, please take a moment to fill out our weekly survey so we can share your thoughts and experiences with the Cruising Compass family. Thanks.

If you make regular offshore passages or have owned your boat for a long time, how often do you replace the standing rigging on your boat’s mast?

Thanks to all readers who took the time to complete last week’s survey on AIS.  Two weeks ago, we asked how many readers have AIS on their boats and 87% do have it. Also, in that survey 91% rated AIS as either Very Important or Essential safety equipment.  Last week, we asked if readers think offshore racing and rally organizations should require AIS to be aboard all boats entered in their events; 86% said yes, it should be required.
