Orca 2 Nav System Expands Capabilities

By George Day · On April 16, 2024

The Orca satellite and chart plotter system designed for tablets and smart phones to replace the integrated systems from Garmin Raymarine and others, has been around for two years and has proven a very attractive and thoroughly modern alternative.

Now in Gen 2, the Orca system has become a fully functioning MFD with all of the digital charting, route planning and satellite imaging of Gen 1 but now with links to radar, the autopilot, AIS and a wide array of weather functions.

Plus, Orca 2 has partnered with NOAA, Meteo France and others to create real time weather for your area that permits the system to create the fastest and safest routes based upon actual weather conditions and forecasts.

The new Orca 2 tablet looks amazing, too. It is waterproof, comes with a high impact case and has a screen that can be easily read in direct sunlight. This simple hand-held nav tool does it all and more.

If you are looking to add a fully-fledged onboard navigation system with all the bells and whistles in a format that is way more modern and convenient than traditional MFDs and their systems, Orca might be for you.
