Many thanks to all of you who sent in answers to last week’s question on what’s measured in hectopascals. The winner this week is Marek Zwierz who emailed: “A hectopascal is a unit for measuring atmospheric pressure. In this context, it means air pressure. On a yacht hectopascal is used in barometers and barographs for measuring air pressure. The same numeric values have an another unit: millibars. An old unit was mmHg, millimeter of Hg (mercury) column.”
