A fathom is an lenght unit of 6 feet, so five fathoms will be 30 feet. This unit varies in the time, so depend on time, or better, century, and purpose, means navy, merchant vesseld or fisher, and takes the length from 5 to 7 feet, but this is a theme for an another story.”
