In the year ahead, do you plan to buy a new cruising boat?
Many thanks to everyone who took the time to reply to last week’s survey on couple’s sailing offshore and watch systems. A whopping 68% of those who replied sail offshore as a couple without extra crew. Asked about watch systems, more than half set night watches on a three hours-on and three-hours off schedule. But, many said this was flexible and adjusted by weather or heavy ship traffic. Several readers said they used a six on, six off schedule but this would be shortened in bad weather.
