The winner this week is Auguste Fortin, SV Pax who emaled: “Greenland looks so large because of the Mercator map projection, which is excellent for preserving maritime distances but distorts land masses, the more so as one departs from the equator. Perhaps Greenland wouldn’t be so appealing to certain nations if its true size was shown on maps, such as in the equal earth projection.”
