Have you Heard of Toronto’s Sail-In Cinema™?

By Administrator · On July 8, 2015

From August 20 to 22, Canada’s Sugar Beach will transform into Toronto’s largest outdoor theater. Movies will be shown under the open skies on a two-sided screen set atop a barge in Toronto Harbor. You can watch movies for freefrom Sugar Beach or Lake Ontario. If you’ve got your sea legs, you can come to the movies by boat and drop anchor. If you’re a landlubber, bring a chair, a cushion or a picnic blanket.

Think Sail-In Cinema™ sounds like an awesome event? You’re not the only one. Sail-In Cinema™ won Gold at Marketing Magazine’s Marketing Awards for best Experiential/Stunts/Events initiative of 2011 as well as Silver for best in Commercial Services at the Media Innovation Awards and a Certificate of Merit for advertising from the The Advertising & Design Club of Canada in 2012.

The inaugural Sail-In Cinema™ was held in 2011 to mark PortsToronto centennial year. In 2013, more than 6,500 people and 90 boats joined in the festivities, a 350 per cent increase over the previous year.

Sail-In Cinema™ is now a permanent fixture on Toronto’s summer calendar.
